WHAT WE BELIEVE
|
|
As a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), we believe:
* The Bible to be God's Inspired and Holy Word, the supreme and final authority in all matters of our faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16)
* In One True God who is Eternal, Infinite, Holy, Perfect, All-Knowing, All-Powerful and Good. This One God exists in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:11; 3:11; Acts 4:24-27)
* God, working through the eternal Son, did create all things from nothing by the power of His word and for His own glory (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-4; Hebrews 11:3)
* Man was created by God and in His likeness to have fellowship with God and to reflect glory back to Him through obedient service. Therefore, we do hold that all life is precious and that human beings are of great value and dignity (Genesis 1:26)
* Man did fall from his original position of righteous fellowship with God through his act of disobedience and that the sin of our first parents did produce spiritual death and separation from God, both for them as well as for all their children for all generations (Romans 3;9-19; 5:12-21)
* Jesus Christ is the incarnate Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, who came into the world that He might rescue sinful men and women. To this end He did suffer and die on the cross, making atonement for the sins of men (Romans 5:8; John 3:16; Colossians 2:13-14)
* Salvation, involving complete forgiveness for all sins and restoration of righteous fellowship with God, is freely given to the individual who, by God's grace, turns from his sin in repentance and places his trust in Christ Jesus alone (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12; Romans 3:22-24; 6:23; Titus 3:5-7)
* The Believer in Jesus Christ is made alive in Christ by the regenerating power of the Spirit of God and empowered to live sensibly, righteously and godly in this present age (Titus 2:11-14)
