Kutenai-Reflections of heaven in the next life.

Sometimes, when you're walking through a forest and a ray of sunlight pierces the dust and leaves, you get a taste of heaven. Or on a morning with mist rising above the ground as the sun comes up. Conjuring images of heaven brings an awareness of the next life, of the reality of death that we all try to forget sometimes. What will heaven be like? Is there really such a place? We just die and that's it, right? Like a candle blown out? Those who have been closest to death and live with it, those whose loved ones are slipping away…these people know the reality of Death. When it stares you in the face, it's like somebody slapped you. Hard. 'Cause you realize that what you have been doing all your life is merely vanity, a chasing after the wind. And you get honest about your thoughts on the next life. That's when you need something firm to hold onto. And the only thing I've ever found that fills that need is Jesus.
