The K-Vision User's Manual:

The K-Vision User's Manual is downloaded as a single self-extracting file ("usr.exe"). When the file is extracted, it will produce five separate Microsoft Word documents. These documents can be viewed online or printed, whichever is most convenient for you. The User's Manual consists of the following five sections (files):
  • Introduction ("usrintro.doc") - A general description of features and function of K-Vision, minimum computer system requirements to run the K-Vision program, installation instructions for the K-Vision program, and where & how to get technical support.
  • Part 1: K-Vision Tutorial ("usrtutor.doc") - This section is a good beginning point to learn how to use K-Vision to build and run a simple decision support system.
  • Part 2: Operations ("usroper.doc") - This section will acquaint you with basic editing and navigation.
  • Part 3: Overview of Advanced Nodes ("usrover.doc") - This section introduces some of the more advanced capabilities of K-Vision.
  • Part 4: Appendicies ("usrapp.doc") - Various and sundry information you may or may not find useful.

  • Instructions for Downloading the K-Vision User's Manual
    1. Click here to download the K-Vision User's Manual. (212 KB - it's a small file)
      Select the "Save this program to disk" option. Then click the "OK" button.
      This will begin the transfer of the "usr.exe" file to your computer.
    2. Save this file in your "K-Vision" folder on your hard drive. If you don't yet have a "K-Vision" folder, then create one.
    3. After you have saved the "usr.exe" file to your "K-Vision" folder, then double click on it and it will install the five K-Vision User's Manual sections referred to above. It will put them in your "K-Vision" folder.
    4. After the files have all been installed, close the black installation window. Then use Microsoft Word to open the files.



The K-Vision Reference Manual:

We recommend that new users digest the complete contents of the User's Manual before starting in on the Reference Manual. The K-Vision Reference Manual is downloaded as a single self-extracting file ("ref.exe"). When the file is extracted, it will produce six separate Microsoft Word documents. These documents can be viewed online or printed, whichever is most convenient for you. The Reference Manual consists of the following six sections (files):
  • Node Types ("refnode.doc") - Detailed information on various node types and their operation: Action nodes, Help nodes, Table nodes, Procedure nodes, System Action nodes, Comparison nodes, and node conversion.
  • Control Features ("refctrl.doc") - This section will acquaint you with the more advanced algorithm control features such as graphical looping, graphical branching, and subtrees.
  • Generation Options ("refgen.doc") - Generation options explained such as: case based reasoning, intellisearch, automatic learning, help desk utilities, and user tracking.
  • Advanced Programming ("refprog.doc") - Various advanced programming features and functions such as: inference engine programming language terms defined, equality & assignment operators, custom window manipulation, math functions, external file & database manipulation, and debugging tools.
  • Special Files ("reffiles.doc") - Function and Operation of special files such as Project Files and Attachment Files.
  • Appendicies ("refapp.doc") - Appendix information includes: command line options, ".ini" files, and code examples.

      Select the "Save this program to disk" option. Then click the "OK" button.
      This will begin the transfer of the "ref.exe" file to your computer.
    2. Save this file in your "K-Vision" folder on your hard drive. If you don't yet have a "K-Vision" folder, then create one.
